Item Coversheet Page 1 of 1 <br /> Public Works <br /> DATE: 12/7/2017 <br /> MEMO: 2017-64 <br /> TO: Honorable Mayor Moore Wolfe and City Council Members <br /> FROM: Tim Gleason,City Manager <br /> Matthew Newell,P.E.,Interim Public Works Director <br /> SUBJECT: Resolution Authorizing a Water Service Agreement for 3968 West Division Street <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended by staff that the City Council approve the attached resolution <br /> authorizing a Water Service Agreement between the City of Decatur and the property owners for 3968 West Division Street. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> The subject property abuts the West Sunnyside Heights First Addition on the east,surrounded by Lot 3 of Summerlott Second <br /> Addition on the south,west and north. The property is located at the end of West Division Street,a Decatur Township maintained <br /> road. The property owners wish to connect to obtain water service. The following information is relevant to the area in question: <br /> 1. City water is currently available and not connected to the subject property. <br /> 2. No additional public infrastructure or municipal services are needed or contemplated. <br /> 3. City corporate limits are 103.3 feet north of the subject property. <br /> 4. Legal identifier number is 04-12-07-100-026 <br /> PRIOR COUNCIL ACTION: None <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: There are no known objections to this resolution and agreement. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: None <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Matthew C.Newell,Interim Public Works Director and David Horn,Supervisor of Technical Services. <br /> Mr.Newell will be in attendance at the City Council meeting to answer any questions of the council on this item. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: <br /> Budget Impact: Water rates for those properties outside of the City are double the normal rate paid by customers located within <br /> the corporate limits.
