CITY COUNCIL MEMORANDUM
NO. 2018-02
TO: Mayor Moore Wolfe
City Council
FROM: Tim Gleason, City Manager
DATE: January 16, 2018
SUBJECT: Intergovernmental Agreement with Macon County for Transportation
Improvement
On the Agenda for the January 16,2018,Council meeting is a Resolution seeking adoption
of an Intergovernmental Agreement with Macon County related to the sharing of the costs of the
Consulting Services Agreement with Ann L. Schneider LLC Council is being asked to approve
related to the City's transportation goals. The City and County have mutual transportation needs
and goals and the Intergovernmental Agreement will promote those needs and goals and promote
efficiency and economy in meeting those for our residents.
This Agreement provides that if the Council approves the Consulting Services Agreement,
Macon County will agree to share the costs associated with that Agreement equally with the City.
The Agreement is a one (1) year Agreement with an additional year automatic renewal
period. It also provides for payment of half of the extraordinary costs and expenses if the City and
County both approve of such.
I believe that this Agreement will provide great service in moving our transportation related
goals ahead and recommend approval.
