RESOLUTION NO. 2018- 4 9 <br /> RESOLUTION DESIGNATING HONORARY STREET <br /> -LESLIE T. ALLEN- <br /> WHEREAS,that on August 17, 2009 the City Council initially approved an Honorary <br /> Street Sign Program for the City of Decatur; and <br /> WHEREAS, on March 2, 2015 said program was amended to better describe and present <br /> the honoree in the application process; <br /> WHEREAS, an Honorary Street designation shall be limited to individuals, <br /> organizations, entities and events that either had a significant lineage to the City or had a <br /> significant cultural, historical, or humanitarian impact on the City; <br /> WHEREAS, an advisory committee reviewed and unanimously recommended approval <br /> of an application submitted by the family of the late Leslie T. Allen; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> DECATUR, ILLINOIS: <br /> Section 1. That the City Council hereby designates the corner of Linden Ave. and W. <br /> Main St. as Honorary Leslie T. Allen Ave., in honor of Leslie T. Allen for a period not to exceed <br /> ten(10) years from the date of this resolution. <br /> Section 2. That the applicant for this designation shall be responsible for the cost of the <br /> production and installation of the Honorary Street Sign. <br /> Section 3. That the cost shall be paid by the applicant prior to and as a condition of <br /> production and installation of the Honorary Street Sign. <br /> Section 4.
