Osman <br /> tt <br /> Subject: Special Provision for Hot-Mix Asphalt—Density Testing of <br /> Longitudinal Joints <br /> Date: January 8, 2016 <br /> This special provision was developed by the Bureau of Materials and Physical <br /> Research to improve the performance of longitudinal joints in Hot-Mix Asphalt <br /> (HMA)pavements. It has been revised to fit with the 2016 Standard <br /> Specifications. <br /> It should be inserted in HMA contracts utilizing Quality Control/Quality <br /> Assurance as the Quality Management Program for the pavement/resurfacing. <br /> The districts should include the BDE Check Sheet marked with the applicable <br /> special provisions for the April 22, 2016 letting and subsequent lettings. The <br /> 1 Project Development and Implementation Section will include a copy in the <br /> contract. <br /> This special provision will be available on the transfer directory <br /> January 8, 2016. <br /> 80246m <br />
