Before providing my <br /> recommendation,I offer the following summary of the Bid submissions in order of low to highest. <br /> Leander$61o,000: Based on the City's review of the MBE documents,they did not successfully <br /> complete the required forms and as such their bid was disqualified. <br /> D&O Construction$667,998: Based on the City's review of the MBE documents,they successfully <br /> completed the required forms.Based on our meeting with D&O,we feel comfortable with their knowledge <br /> of the project and that their understanding of the scope of work appears to be complete. D&O appears to <br /> have experience consistent with this scope of work. <br /> Felmley Dickerson$845,000: Based on the City's review of the MBE documents,they successfully <br /> completed the required forms. They performed the work for the first phase of this project. <br /> Upon review of all the bids and a meeting with D&O Construction,it is our recommendation that City of <br /> Decatur accept the proposal of$667,998 from the lowest qualified bidder D&O Construction.Based on <br /> our understanding of available project funds and discussion with the Fire Department,we would also <br /> recommend that the City of Decatur accept alternate bids 1, 2,3,4,5, 6,and 7 for a project total of <br /> $803745• <br /> f <br /> Base Bid: $667,998 <br /> Alternate 1: Station #1 Unit Heaters $7,540 <br /> Alternate 2: Station #1 Air Handling Units $6,600 <br /> Alternate 3: Station#1 North Office Electric <br /> Heating Coils $11,410 <br /> Alternate 4: Station#1 Existing Storefront <br /> Replacement $37,667 <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br /> i <br /> r <br />
