Page 2 of 2 <br /> Amendments to Zoning Ordinance <br /> August 2, 2018 <br /> Facility" and `Wireless Facility", and modifying the definition of"Wireless Communication Facility" <br /> to include small wireless facility in the "Definitions" section (Section II), modifying the purpose and <br /> intent as well as jurisdiction in the "Wireless Facilities" section (Section XXVII), and adding small <br /> wireless facilities as under the power and duties of the Zoning Board of Appeals in the "Zoning Board <br /> of Appeals" section (Section XXX) for consideration of variances to the height limitations of 10 feet <br /> above the support structure as prescribed. <br /> Current zoning regulations for all wireless communication facilities including small wireless facilities <br /> still apply, except those small wireless facilities collocated (i) in rights-of-way in any zoning district, <br /> or(ii) outside rights-of-way in property zoned exclusively for commercial or industrial use. These <br /> exempted small wireless facilities are subject to provisions contained in Ordinance 2018-29 (Chapter <br /> 41.2 Small Wireless Facilities of the City Code of the City of Decatur). <br /> STAFF RECOMMENDATION <br /> Staff recommends approval of the amendments as proposed. <br /> PLAN COMMISSION ACTION <br /> Section XXIX.G. of the Zoning Ordinance requires the Plan Commission to hold a public hearing and <br /> make recommendation to the City Council on amendments to the Zoning Ordinance. A motion to <br /> forward Case Number 18-34 to City Council with a recommendation of approval is suggested.
