PUBLIC WORKS MEMORANDUM NO. 2018-48 DATE: September 10,2018 TO: Honorable Mayor Moore Wolfe and City Council Members FROM: Billy Tyus,Interim City Manager Matthew Newell, P.E.,Public Works Director SUBJECT: Resolution Authorizing a Water Service Agreement for 4975 South Franklin Street Road SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended by staff that the City Council approve the attached resolution authorizing a Water Service Agreement between the City of Decatur and the property owners for 4975 South Franklin Street Road. BACKGROUND: The subject property is a part of the east half of lot one (1) of the northwest quarter of section 2, township 15 north, range 2 east of the third principle meridian, Macon County, Illinois. The property is located near the northwest corner of the intersection of South Franklin Street Road and East Elwin Road both which are maintained by the County. The property owners wish to connect to obtain water service. The following information is relevant to the area in question: 1. City water is currently available and not connected to the subject property. 2. No additional public infrastructure or municipal services are needed or contemplated. 3. City corporate limits are 1.43 miles north of the subject property. 4. Legal identifier number is 16-02-100-010. SCHEDULE: If approved,the owners will pay all applicable fees and permits priar to connection to the City water main by a licensed plumber. POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: There are no known objections to this resolution and agreement. INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: None. STAFF REFERENCE: Matthew C.Newell, Public Works Director and Don Cisco, Supervisor of Technical Services. Mr. Newell will be in attendance at the City Council meeting to answer any questions of the Council on this item.
