Item Coversheet 9/13/2018 11:01:23 AM <br /> � <br /> Public Works <br /> DATE: 9/10/2018 <br /> MEMO: 2018-48 <br /> TO: Honarable Mayor Moore Wolfe and City Council Members <br /> FROM: Billy Tyus, Interim City Manager <br /> Matthew Newell,P.E.,Public Works Directar <br /> SUBJECT: Resolution Authorizing a Water Service Agreement for 4975 South Franklin Street Road <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended by staff that the City Council approve the attached resolution <br /> authorizing a Water Service Agreement between the City of Decatur and the property owners for 4975 South Franklin Street <br /> Road. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> The subject property is a part of the east half of lot one(1)of the northwest quarter of section 2,township 15 north,range 2 east of <br /> the third principle meridian,Macon County, Illinois. The property is located near the northwest corner of the intersection of South <br /> Franklin Street Road and East Elwin Road both which are maintained by the County. The property owners wish to connect to the <br /> City water main which is adjacent to their property. The following information is relevant to the area in question: <br /> 1. City water is currently available and not connected to the subject property. <br /> 2. No additional public infrastructure or municipal services are needed or contemplated. <br /> 3. City corporate limits are 1.43 miles north of the subject property. <br /> 4. Legal identifier number is 16-02-100-010. <br /> PRIOR COUNCIL ACTION: None <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: There are no known objections. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: None <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Matthew C.Newell,Public Works Director and Don Cisco, Supervisor of Technical Services.Mr. <br /> Newell will be in attendance at the City Council meeting to answer any questions of the Council on this item. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: <br /> Budget Impact: Water rates for those properties outside of the City are double the normal rate paid by customers located within <br /> the corporate limits.
