ADDITIONS <br /> CHAPTER 16 <br /> PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT <br /> Section 7. DISCRETIONARY REPAIRS. Within budget constraints <br /> determined by the Citv Council, the City Public Works Director, or his/her desianee, <br /> shall have discretionarv authority to select and adopt policies and plans for the care and <br /> maintenance of public infrastructure, including but not limited to streets, parkina lots, <br /> sidewalks, boulevards, trees, and veaetation, public spaces, buildings, parks, sewers, <br /> and water infrastructure. In consideringpolicies and/or plans for Citv infrastructure <br /> maintenance, the Public Works Director is authorized to use discretion in decidinq <br /> whether and when to perform certain maintenance activities, and the manner in which <br /> thev shall be conducted, bv balancinq the competinq needs of limited Citv resources <br /> with var rling dearees of need for maintenance, and shall use his/her best iudqment as to <br /> which of competinq maintenance needs will best serve the competinq interests, and the <br /> �eneral health, safety and welfare of the public. <br />
