Enyart, P.E.,Assistant City Engineer <br /> SUBJECT: Ordinance Authorizing the Installation of Stop Signs at the Intersection of <br /> North Gulick Avenue and West Center Street Facing West Center Street. <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> Staff recommends the approval of the attached Ordinance authorizing the installation of stop <br /> signs at the intersection of North Gulick Avenue and West Center Street facing West Center <br /> Street. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> October 25, 2018—Traffic& Parking Commission approved a request from City staff <br /> recommending that the stop signs be installed at the intersection of North Gulick Avenue and <br /> West Center Street with the stop signs facing West Center Street. <br /> A resident notified City staff that they felt the intersection of North Gulick Avenue and West <br /> Center Street was unsafe due to a lack of traffic control. A review of the traffic accident history <br /> for the past three years found that there were safety concerns at the intersection. Staff <br /> recommends that stop signs be installed. <br /> The Traffic and Parking Commission's recommendation is attached with the ordinance for <br /> Council's review. <br /> SCHEDULE: Stop signs are typically installed within 14 days of approval. <br /> BUDGET AND STAFFING IMPLICATIONS: <br /> Budget Impact: Budgetary impacts are approximately $250 for the installation of the requested <br /> signs and pavement markings. <br /> Staffing Impact: Approximately 2 hours of staff time to make and install the signs. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: No objections are anticipated. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Traffic and Parking Commission <br /> Page � 1 <br />
