12. PERMITS FOR USE OF SIDEWALKS AND PUBLIC PLACES. <br /> A. DEFINITIONS. <br /> (1) APPLICANT shall mean the person or entity who has applied for but not yet <br /> been granted a permit allowing for the operation of an outdoor cafe or the placement of a sidewalk <br /> sign in the B-4 Central Business District. (Amended, Ordinance 2012-52, July 30, 2012) <br /> (2) BUMP OUT shall mean the areas where the sidewalk is extended further into <br /> the public right of way to provide for more pedestrian space. Bump outs are typically found at the <br /> corners of each intersection or mid-block of a street. (Amended, Ordinance 2012-52, July 30, <br /> 2012) <br /> (3) ELECTRIC CONNECTION FEE shall mean the fee associated with <br /> connecting to the electrical outlets located within the base of the City's light poles in the public <br /> right of way. (Amended, Ordinance 2012-52, July 30, 2012) <br /> (4) FOOD SERVICE ESTABLISHMENTS are those establishments as defined <br /> and licensed by the Macon County Board of Health. <br /> (5) LIQUOR ESTABLISHMENTS are those establishments holding a valid liquor <br /> license issued by the City of Decatur. <br /> (6) OUTDOOR CAFE shall mean a use of public sidewalk by a food service <br /> establishment or liquor establishment occupying and using a building, for the immediate serving <br /> of food and beverages and adjacent to said building or on sidewalks contiguous to the sidewalk <br /> adjacent to the building occupied by the establishment.
