SUIVIMARY RECOMMENDATION: It is recomrnended that City Council approve the attached Resolution autharizing the execution af an Agreernent between Steve's Trucking,Inc.and the City of Deca#ur,Illinois for$20,410 for the demalition of 409 South Wehster Street. BACKGROUND: As part of work to e�edite demolitians in our community it is recammended tl�t City Cauncil approve the attached Resoiution authorizing the execution of an agreement beiween Steve's Trucking,Ine. and the City of Decatur for$20,410 for the demolition of 409 South Webster Street. The demolition cast is$12,560 and asbestos removal costs are$7,850. If approved,it would mean that there would be a total af 27 hauses that are either dernolished,out to bid or will be soon with a goal ta have a minimum af 47 by February 2019. There is just shy of$1 miltion budgeted far demolitions over the ne�t l2 months($922,344). We recently received bids far the dernalition af 9 properties at a taTal cast of$94,059 which comes aut to an average cast af $10,451 per house,less than the esrimated$15,Q00 to$20,000 that we've seen in prior years.
