Zientara, City Treasurer&Director of Finance <br /> SUBJECT: Ordinance Appropriating Additional Monies for the Purpose of Defraying the <br /> Expenses for Certain Funds of the City of Decatur, Illinois for the Fiscal Year <br /> Ending December 31, 2018 <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> City Administration recommends City Council approval of the attached Ordinance. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> City Council passed the Annual Appropriation Ordinance 2018-07 on March 5, 2018 for the <br /> purpose of defraying the expenses of certain departments and funds of the City of Decatur for the <br /> fiscal year beginning January 1, 2018 and ending December 31, 2018. <br /> It is now necessary to appropriate additional funds for operational expenditures necessary for the <br /> City to effect provision of services to its citizens which were not anticipated at the time the City <br /> Council adopted Ordinance 2018-07. <br /> • State Drug Fund #25. Appropriate $200,000 to defray the cost of fund expenditure to <br /> move money to newly established Federal Drug Fund ($122,000) and other expenditure <br /> of grant funds not contemplated in the original budget appropriation ($78,000). <br /> • Police Capital Fund #33. Appropriate $10,000 to defray the cost of street camera <br /> surveillance and protective clothing expense not contemplated in the original budget <br /> appropriation. <br /> • Municipal Band Fund #36. Appropriate $10,000 to defray general expense not <br /> contemplated in the original budget appropriation. <br /> • Fleet Maintenance Fund #60. Appropriate $50,000 to defray the cost of vehicle fuel <br /> expense exceeding the original budget appropriation. <br /> • Police Pension Fund #91. Appropriate $200,000 to defray the cost of pension fund <br /> expense exceeding the original budget. <br /> The additional appropriations requested are within the cash position balance of each fund and <br /> present no adverse impact on overall City operations and fund balance positions. <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br />
