<br /> AN ORDINANCE LEVYING PROPERTY TAXES FOR THE CITY OF DECATUR,
<br /> ILLINOIS FOR THE PURPOSE OF RAISING REVENUE TO MEET CERTAIN
<br /> NECESSARY EXPENSES OF THE CITY FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING
<br /> JANUARY 1,2019 AND ENDING DECEMBER 31,2019
<br /> WHEREAS,the City of Decatur, Illinois is a home rule unit of local government as defined
<br /> by, and having the powers enumerated in, the Constitution of the State of Illinois 1970, Article
<br /> VII, Section 6(a); and,
<br /> WHEREAS,the City of Decatur is required to establish the Property Tax Levy for the City
<br /> of Decatur for the year of assessed value with property tax payable in the subsequent year,the City
<br /> hereby with this Ordinance affixes the Property Tax Levy for assessed value in calendar year 2018
<br /> and with tax payable in calendar year 2019.
<br /> NOW, AND THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
<br /> CITY OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS:
<br /> Section 1. That there is hereby levied upon all the taxable property within the corporate
<br /> limits of the City of Decatur, Illinois, as the same is taxed and equalized for State and County
<br /> purposes for the fiscal year beginning with the lst day of January of 2019, and ending on the 31St
<br /> day of December, 2019, the sum of Twenty-Six Million, Eight Hundred Thirty Six Thousand,
<br /> Sixty Two Dollars and Fifty Four Cents ($26,836,062.54)for which said sum is hereby levied and
<br /> is appropriated for purposes specified as follows, and that there is hereby abated upon all taxable
<br /> property within the corporate limits of the City of Decatur, Illinois, the sum of Twelve Million,
<br /> Nine Hundred and Fifty Nine Thousand, Sixty Two Dollars and Twenty Eight Cents
<br /> ($12,959,062.28) resulting in a Net Tax Levy of Thirteen Million, Eight Hundred Seventy Seven
<br /> Thousand Dollars and Twenty Six Cents ($13,877,000.26).
