City staff reconur�ends <br /> approval of all six resolutions. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> This is the third time within the last five years that the City has solicited bids to hire i�ividual contractors ta mow lots owned by <br /> the Macon County Trustee at various lacations throughout the community. <br /> The City of Decatur accepted bids for removal of grass and weeds from lots owned by the Macon Caunty Trustee that have <br /> failed to cornply with Chapter 4$ Section 8 of the City Code of Decatur. The City is divided into 21 Districts with each District <br /> ranging fram 12 to 581ots. <br /> Bid Specifications and Scope af Work are: The Contractor shall provide all labor,tools and equip�nt to cut weeds ar�grass <br /> frarn Macon County Trustee-owned lots(a lot is defined as having ane Macon Counry tax identification number and specified in <br /> the official legal description, no other description is acceptable) in the City of Decatw-. The Contractor will accept the <br /> responsibility af cutting wesds arul grass from vacarrt properties with weeds and grass cut to a height of less thart three{3}inches <br /> and bushes and trees less than one (1) inch in diameter cut and remnved. The con�ract period shall be from the date of award <br /> through December 31,2Q19, <br /> The City of Decatur will issue a work order on each job assignrnent describing the work ta be perforn�ed. The work order must <br /> be pzcked up within 24 haws after natification and compieted wittsin ten{IO)days after receipt. If,a$er ten{IO}days,the wark <br /> order has nat been completed,the work order will be withdrawn and reissued to another mowing cantractor. Failure ta perforrn <br /> within ten(l4)days rr�y be considered a default. The Contractor will be paid for each wark arder completed on an individual <br /> lot. The Contractor shall not camplete the work if it does not match the descriptian on the work order. The cornpleted work <br /> orders shall be returned ta the Neighborhaod Inspections Division. <br /> The Contractor will be responsible for placing any large materials and/or debris in a central location or curbside for clean up by <br /> the City of Decatur.
