URAINANCE NU. 2 01 9-1 3 URDINANCE AU'THORIZIl'1rG ACCEPTANCE UF CERTAIN PROPERTIES O� MA.CON COUNTY TRUST.EE FQR PUBLIC PTJRPUSE WHEREAS, the City ("City") and Caunty of Macon ("Caunty") are units of local governrnent as defined by Article VII,Section 1,ofthe Constitution af the State of Illinais;and, WHEREAS, the City and Caunty are authorized and ennpowered by Article VII, Section t 0 of the Canstitution and the Intergovernmentat Caoperation Act�5 ILCS 220/1 et.seq.)to enter into Intergovernmentat Agreements; and, VVH�REAS,the Caunty owns various parcels of land pursuant to the tax deed foreclasure process found in 35 ILCS 221I-1 et. seq. more partzcutarly described in Exhibit A and Exhibit B attached heretv;and, WHEREAS,the County has attempted to sell these parcels at variaus public auctians and there remain many garcels that have not been purchased at these public auctions;and, WHEREAS, the City is a muniaipality with territory located wholly within the County; and, WHEREAS, the City desires to improve, revitalize and redevelop its neighborhaods and community and has determined that the praperties owned by the County are an irnportant portion of said improvement, revitalizatian and redevelopment with the goal ta return the properties and parcels owned by the County to fhe tax rolls thus inereasing the tax revenues for the City, County and various t�ing districts; and, WHEREAS, the County has previously agi�eed to transfer under certain conditions the properties set out in Exhibit A to the City and #he City has previously agreed to accept the properties under certain canditians. WHEREAS, the City desires to purchase additional properties acquired by #he County pursuant to the ta�c deed foreclosure process set out in Exhibit B,and the County.has indicated its agreement to said purchase. NOW THEREFORE,BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY O�' DECATUR,ILLINOIS: Section l. That the City dectares that it is necessary and canvenient far it to use, occupy and/or imprave the praperty owned by the Coanty as rnore particularly set out in Exbibit A and Exhibit B for the making af pnblic improvements and for the public purpase of improving, revitalizing and redeveloping the City. � Sectian 2. That the properties shall be transferred upan such ternas as previausly agreed upon by the parties.
