SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br /> SP-10 PAVEMENT STRIPING <br /> Description: Permanent pavement markings shall be placed on the finished surface <br /> treatment within 3 calendar days of completion of the surface course. <br /> Basis of Payment: All labor and materials necessary to comply with this specification and <br /> standard details, will be paid for at the contract unit price per FOOT for THERMOPLASTIC <br /> PAVEMENT MARKING—LINES 6" <br /> SP-11 WORK NEAR RAILROADS <br /> Description: The Contractor shall use care when work approaches railroad right-of-way. <br /> No vehicles, materials or equipment shall be staged or stored on the right-of-way of at-grade <br /> railroad crossings. <br /> Basis of Payment: Cost of the work wiil not be paid for separately but shall be considered <br /> as included with the various work items involved. <br /> SP-12 CLASS D PATCHES AND CRACK FILLING <br /> Description: Except as directed by the engineer,all Class D patches and Crack Filling must <br /> be completed only after work on South Shores Drive is completed. <br /> Basis of Payment: All Iabor and materiais necessary to complete this work will be paid for <br /> at the contract unit price per SQUARE YARD for CLASS D PATCHES, of the type and depth <br /> specified,and at the contract unit price per POtJND for CRACK FILLING. <br /> SP-13 GRAND AVENUE CURB,SIDEWALK,AND PIPE UNDERDRAIN <br /> Description: Replacement of the 2-foot-wide sectiou of sidewalk behind <br /> the curb along Grand Avenue may be necessary if the loss of support from the removal of the curb <br /> and gutter causes the sidewalk to fail. Similarly,replacement of the catch basin which the pipe <br /> underdrain ties into may be necessary, if its condition causes it to fail with the loss of support or <br /> from the installation of the pipe underdrain.The Contractor will be solely responsible for the <br /> replacement of the sidewalk and the catch basin if damage is caused by a lack of care on the part of <br /> the Contractor. <br /> Basis of Payment: The cost of the reptacement of the sidewalk will be <br /> paid for at the SQUARE FOOT unit price for PORTLAND CEMENT CONCRETE SIDEWALK, <br /> 5"and the SQUARE FOOT unit price for SIDEWALK REMOVAL. <br /> The cost of the replacement of the catch basin will be paid for EACH for CATCH BASIN TO BE <br /> RECONSTRUCTED WITH NEW TYPE 3 FRAME AND GRATE. <br /> END OF <br /> SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br /> 7 <br />
