PUBLIC WORKS MEMQRANDUM <br /> NO. 2019-41 <br /> DATE: May 20,2019 <br /> TO: Honarable Mayor Moore Wolfe and C"ity Councii Members <br /> FROM: Scat Wrightan,City Manager <br /> Matt Newell,P.E,,Public Warks Director <br /> SUBJECT: Ordinance Annexing Territory—4118 McClain Drive <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recammends that the Clydinance annexing territory <br /> at 411$ McClain Drive be approved. <br /> BACK�Rt�UND: The subject property is cantiguous to Decatur City Iimits. City water is <br /> currently available and connected to the subject praperty. This property is being annexed due to <br /> a water service agreement. <br /> The City recently sent aut thirty(30) letters advising current water service agreernent holders, <br /> who are adjacent to City limits,to submit petitions to annex. There are currently 527 properties <br /> outside the City limits with water service agreements. Annexing the properties will be an <br /> iterative pracess, in that as ane property annexes, additianal properties become contiguous to , <br /> City limits. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: None <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Matt Neweli, Public Works Director and Paul Casweii, City Engineer. <br /> Matt Newell will be in attendance at the City Council meeting to answer any questions of the <br /> Council on this item. <br />
