PUBLIC WORKS MEMQRANDUM <br /> N4.2019-43 <br /> DATE: May 20,2019 <br /> TO: Hanorable Mayor Moore Walfe and City Council Members <br /> FROM: Scat Wrightan, City Manager <br /> Matt Newell,P.E,, Public Works Director <br /> SUBJECT: Ordinance Annexing Territary—61 Tennisan Court <br /> SUMMARY RECQMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the Ordinance annexing territory <br /> at 61 Tennison Caurt be approved. <br /> BACKGROUND: The subject property is contiguous to Decatur City limits. City water is <br /> currently available and connected to the subject property. This property is being annexed due to <br /> a water service agreement. <br /> The City recently sent aut thirty (30) letters advising current water service agreernent holders, <br /> who are adjacent to City limits,to submit petitions to annex. There are currently 527 properties <br /> autside the City lirnits with water service agreements. Annexing the properties will be an <br /> iterative process, in that as one property annexes, additional properties become contiguous to <br /> City limits. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: None <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Matt Newell, Public Works Director and Paul Caswell, City Engineer. <br /> Matt Newell will be ir�afitendance at the City Council meeting to answer any questions of the <br /> Council on this item. <br />
