DATE: June 13, 2019
T0: Mayor Julie Moore Wolfe&the Decatur City Council
FROM: Scot Wrighton, City Manager
RE: Annual Lobbying Services Agreement
Presented for consideration is the city's annual lobbying services agreement with
Curry&Associates. The scope of services and compensation remains unchanged
from previous years. The service scope is broadly described and allows the city to
alter its objectives and strategies in dealing with State government to match its
changing needs and priorities.
In the past, Curry&Associates has mostly assisted the city in advancing special
projects and grant proposals. In preparing for this year's renewal, I have discussed
possible revisions to the ciry's State government interactions,to include a proaet'rve
legislative agenda, more lobbying assistance in dealing with State regulatory
agencies, etc. Curry&Associates has no objections to adding these new initiatives.
It is recommended that the new agreement be adopted.
