This represents 50%of the expected costs to extend the water main. <br /> BACKGRC?UND: <br /> The Central Baptist Church began the pracess af relocating to a new site on the southeast corner of Mt.Gilead Road/Rt.51 back <br /> in 204�and annexed the property to the Cit}�. Discussions tverc held at that time regarding the extcnsian of City°water to the site. <br /> City water is available at the Hyde Park trailer park about l,OqO feet narth of`the sitc as shawn on the attached location rnap. <br /> The City owns an elevated water storage tank near the intersection of Mt.Gilead Raad and Franklin Street Road. In addition,a <br /> 12'"water main is lacated in Franklin Street Raad. As the area develaps it will be beneficial to extend a connecting water main on <br /> Mt.Gilead Road fram Rt.52 to Franklin Street Road to pravide good water quality and pressure,anci to service ather praperties an <br /> Route 51. The praposal now presented to the Cauncil is to assist the Gentral Liaptist Church in extcnding a 12"water main from <br /> Hyde Park to their site at a cost nok to exceed$56,000.Since it is the city's desire to eventually extend water service to Mt.Gilead <br /> Road and around to the South Franklin water tower anyway,it is fo the city's advantage to participate in this project as an�icipated <br /> by the attached agreement. <br /> Legal Review: <br /> The agreement was approved by the Corporation Counsel <br /> PR[QR COUNCIL ACTIQN. <br /> August 16,2004—City Council approved Ordinance 2004-65 annexing 11.73 acres located at 1275 West Mt.Gilead Road to the <br /> City on the petitian of the Central Baptist Church. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: There are no known objections. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Central Baptist Church <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Scot Wrighton,City Manager and Matt Newell,Public Works Director. <br /> BUi3GETl'I'IME IMPLICATIONS: <br /> Budget Impact: 'C'he praposed water main extension agreement is for a cost nat to exceed$56,000.
