RESOLUTIO�1 NO. I�a`U��`` �C�� <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION AND AMENDMENT OF <br /> FY 2020 TRANSIT OPERATING ASSISTANCE GRANT AGREEMENT WITH <br /> ILLINOIS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION <br /> WHEREAS, the provision of public transportation service is essential to the people of <br /> Illinois; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Downstate Public Tran�port�tion Act (30 ILCS 740/2-1 et seq.) ("Act") <br /> authorizes the State of Illinois, acting by and through t�.e Illinois Department of Transportation,to <br /> provide grants and make funds available ta assist in the development and operation of public <br /> transportation systems; and <br /> WHEREAS, grants for said funds �vill impose certain obligations upon the recipient, <br /> including provision by it of the local share of funds nec�ssary to cover costs not covered by funds <br /> provided under the Downstate Public Transpc�rtation Act. <br /> NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> DECATUR, ILLINOIS: <br /> Section 1. That the City of Decatur Illinois enter into a Downstate Public Transportation <br /> Operating Assistance Agreement ("Agreement") with the State of Illinois and amend such <br /> Agreement, if necessary, for Fiscal year 2�120 in order to obtain grant assistance under the <br /> provision of the Act. <br /> Section 2. That the Mayor of the City c�f Decatur, Illinois, and she is hereby, authorized <br /> and directed to execute the Agreement or its amendments(s) on behalf of the City of Decatur <br /> Illinois for such assistance for Fiscal year 2020. <br /> Section 3. That the Mass Transit Administrator of the City of Decatur, Illinois, is hereby <br /> authorized to provide such information and f le such documents as may be required to perform the <br /> Agreement and to request and receive the grant funding for Fiscal year 2020. <br /> Section 4.
