CITY COUNCIL MEMORANDUM <br /> NO. 2019-04 <br /> August 12,2019 <br /> TO: Honorable Mayor Moore Wolfe and City Council <br /> FROM: Scot Wrighton, City Manager <br /> Wendy Morthland, Corporation Counsel <br /> SUBJECT: Resolution authorizing Agreement between the �ity of Decatur and Near West <br /> Side Restoration and Preservation Society, 1004 W. Wood St. <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: The Resolution authorizing the City to enter into a <br /> Receivership Agreement with the Near West Side Restoration and Preservation Society would <br /> allow NWRAPS to be appointed as receiver for property located at 1004 W. Wood St. NWRAPS <br /> believes this structure is salvageable and has a desire to make the necessary repairs to this <br /> property. <br /> If this Resolution is approved, the City will file a petition requesting that NWRAPS be <br /> named as Receiver. As an appointed Receiver, NWRAPS will have the ability to make repairs, <br /> place liens against the property representing the cost of those repairs and eventually seek title if <br /> not reimbursed. NWRAPS would be responsible for the costs of repairing and any further legal <br /> proceedings. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: There are no known or expected objections. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Near West Side Restoration and Preservation Society. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Wendy Morthland, Corporation Counsel, at 424-2807. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: N/A. <br />
