Item Coversheet Page 1 of 2 <br /> � <br /> Public Works <br /> DATE: 10/14/2019 <br /> MEMO: 219-148 <br /> TO: Honorable Mayor Moore Wolfe and City Council Members <br /> FROM: Scot Wrighton,City Manager <br /> Matt Newell,Public Works Director <br /> Jeffery Abbott,Fire Chief <br /> Deborah M.Perry,Purchasing Supervisor <br /> SUBJECT: Resolution Accepting the State of Illinois Bid Price of Morrow Brothers Ford Inc.,for the Purchase of Three <br /> (3)2020 Ford Interceptor Utility Vehicles <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends awarding a contract in the amount of$152,310.00 to Morrow Brothers <br /> Ford Inc.for three(3)2020 Ford Interceptor Utility Vehicles. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> The City of Decatur Fire Department has requested three(3)new vehicles to replace four(4)2008 Chevrolet Trailblazers.This <br /> will reduce the Fire Department vehicle inventory by one(1)vehicle. <br /> The vehicles being replaced are: <br /> One 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer with 78,138 miles. <br /> One 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer with 65,488 miles. <br /> One 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer with 75,058 miles. <br /> One 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer with 73,204 miles. <br /> The replacement vehicles are estimated to be delivered in 120 days. <br /> DISPOSAL OF REPLACED UNITS:Two(2)of the 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazers will be recycled down to Fleet Maintenance to <br /> be used as pool transport vehicles to replace one 2012 Chevrolet Impala with 116,825 miles and one 2005 Chevrolet Impala with <br /> 90,156 miles.Both vehicles are in poor condition. <br /> Two(2)of the 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazers will be recycled to replace two(2)2006 Ford Taurus currently used by the Police <br /> Downtown Parking Enforcement,one of which has 76,665 miles and one has 90,245 miles.Both vehicles are in poor condition. <br /> The Chevrolet Impalas and Ford Taurus'will be sold or auctioned. <br /> PRIOR COUNCIL ACTION: None. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: There are no known objections. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Fleet Maintenance wrote bid specifications based on the requirements of the Fire <br /> Department. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Matthew Newell,Public Works Director,Dan Mendenall Municipal Services Manager.Matt Newell will <br /> be in attendance to answer any questions.LEGAL REVIEW:There are no contracts for Legal to review. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: Funding for the expenditure is provided in the FY2019 and in the proposed FY2020 <br /> Budget.
