The street is mostly residential in use, but has two commercial properties along 22°d Street. The commercial properties should not have a regular need for semi-truck deliveries. Delivery vehicles which have business on the street will still be allowed to use it, but through traffic will be prohibited. City staff rec�mmends prohibiting vehicles of the second division, Class C or higher from traveling along East I�ickory Street between North 22nd Street and North 23`d Street. The Illinois Vehicle Code defines vehicles of the second division as: Those motor vehicles which a�e designed for ca�rying n�ore than 10 persons, those motor vehicles designec�o�used for living quarters, those rriaaoto�vehicles which aNe designed for pulling o�ca�rying f�eight, cargo or iryrplerrzents of husbandry, and those motor vehicles of the Fi�st Division Nemodeled,fo�use and used as fnotor vehicles of the,Second Division. Class C or higher vehicles are vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating above 16,000 pounds or that which is towing another vehicle. Ed Hurst motioned to move forward with prohibiting vehicles of the second division, Class C or higher from traveling along East Hickory Street between I�1orth 22"d Street and IVorth 23rd Street. Seconded by�aul Caswell, and on call of the roll, Commission Members �roderick, Caswell, �Iurst, Wigginton and �tewart voted aye. The chairman declared the motion carried.
