Budget <br /> Upper Sangamon River Watershed Monitoring: Friends Creek, Long/Big Creek, and Sangamon River <br /> BUDGET: October 1, 2020—September 1, 2021 <br /> DIRECT COSTS Year 1 <br /> Salaries&Wages $11,515 <br /> Fringe(July'20-June'21 = 53.39%) $5,819 <br /> $17,334 <br /> Travel- Domestic $4,200 <br /> Materials/Supplies: $1,500 <br /> Services: $5,061 <br /> TOTAL DIRECT COSTS: $28,095 <br /> Facilities/Administrative Cost(10%TDC): $2,810 <br /> TOTAL PROJECT COSTS: $30,905 <br /> Budget Justification <br /> Salaries and Wages: Salaries and wages will support the following staff: <br /> Research Project Coordinator— 10%per year as Principal Investigator to oversee and administer the <br /> entire project. Also manage,operate and supervise field operations. <br /> Field Technician— 15%performs bi-weekly field data collections. <br /> Hourly staff—Assist with field data collection as needed involving 8 hours per trip, expecting 6 trips <br /> throughout the year, for collection of discharge measurements. Scan, file, archive,and enter <br /> field data into database. <br /> Fringe Benefits: The appropriate percentages for fringe benefits are used. Current rate is 53.39%for <br /> salaried employees and 7.66%for hourly employees. <br /> Travel: <br /> • Mileage rates for field vans used to travel to the data collection stations around the watershed. <br /> Travel costs include mileage for one vehicle for field technician and a second vehicle for <br /> accompanying staff as needed. University of Illinois COVID-19 safety policy allows only one <br /> person per vehicle. <br /> Material and Supplies: <br /> • Field supplies&parts: Expenses related to field supplies such as, but not limited to,waterproof <br /> field notebooks,markers, paint&brushes,batteries,cable harnesses, waterproof bottle labels, <br /> waterproof paper and pens for field site logs,various parts, fasteners, and cleaning supplies used <br /> to repair and maintain the enclosures,shelters, sensors,etc. in good working condition. Supplies <br /> associated with the safe filtering and acidifying water samples in the field in preparation for <br /> 6 <br />
