(Baby Talk)to provide Internet Access through the City of Decatur. <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that City Council approve the attached resolution,authorizing the <br /> Mayor to execute a Memorandum of Understanding Agreement and associated Sales Order with Baby Talk to provide Internet <br /> Access through the City's Illinois Century Network Internet Service Connection. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> hi 2018 the City completed Phase H of its city-wide fiber network which established direct fiber connections to the Illinois <br /> Century Network who provides state of the art symmetrical fiber-based internet access for Municipalities, Local and State <br /> Government, Schools,Libraries,and other not for profit entities. This provide an extraordinary opportunity to partner with other <br /> organizations to share symmetrical internet resources at a very low monthly cost to those who participate. <br /> Baby Talk has interest in sharing the City Fiber Network to transport internet access for its own exclusive use.
