CITY COUNCIL MEMORANDUM <br /> NO. 2020- <br /> November 10, 2020 <br /> TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council Members <br /> FROM: Scot Wrighton, City Manager <br /> Wendy Morthland, Corporation Counsel <br /> SUBJECT: Annexation of Surrounded Properties: <br /> 4161 North Taylor Avenue <br /> 3290 Las Vegas Drive-2255 Frontier Road-3300 Lag Vegas Drive-3305 <br /> Desert Inn Road <br /> 2406 Thunderbird Drive (Lot East)-3205 Las Vegas Drive (Lot West)- <br /> 3233, 3220, 3235 Tropicana Road-2331 Frontier Road-3245, 3305, <br /> 3303, 3333, 3332 Tropicana Road <br /> 3330 Ferris Drive <br /> 3312, 3310 North Westlawn Avenue-3303 Fite Drive-3296, 3311, 3255 <br /> North Westlawn Avenue <br /> RECOMMENDATION: Under Illinois law, territory of less than sixty (60) acres which is <br /> entirely surrounded by a municipality may be annexed by that municipality after ten (10) days <br /> notice in a newspaper of general circulation. These items before the Council will authorize <br /> publication of such notices, and the Council will then take action to annex said territories on <br /> December 21, 2020. <br /> Staff recommends approval of both the Resolutions Indicating Intent to Annex and the Annexation <br /> Ordinances. <br />
