City Clerk
DATE: 12/24/2020
MEMO:
TO: Mayor Julie Moore Wolfe
City Council Members
FROM: Scot Wrighton,City Manager
SUBJECT: Ordinance Amending City Code Chapter 54.1 -Video Gaming License.
SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the ordinance be adopted.
BACKGROUND: In December, the City Council discussed four options for amending the City Code to reduce the financial
burdens on bars and restaurants that also have video gaming machines. At the December 21 st Council meeting, the City Council
selected one of the options, and the Council voted and approved their desired amendment option. However, upon administrative
review,it was determined the roll was not called for the adoption of the ordinance AS AMENDED;therefore it was not
approved.Adoption of the complete ordinance as amended will perfect this procedural defect. The proposed ordinance
incorporates the option selected by the City Council in December(Section 4).
PRIOR COUNCIL ACTION: The City Council approved the amendment on December 21,2020,but due to a procedural
issue, the Ordinance as discussed and formally amended was not called for a vote to adopt.
STAFF REFERENCE: Should there be any questions or concerns, you can contact Mr. Wrighton,Wendy Morthland,or City
Clerk Kim Althoff.
ATTACHMENTS:
Description Type
Ordinance Amending City Code Chapter 54.1 Video Ordinance
Gaming License
