Getz Jr.,Chief of Police <br /> SUBJECT: Ammunition Purchase for the Decatur Police Department <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> The purpose of this memorandum is to request the expenditure of funds to Ray O'Herron Company, Inc. and Kiesler Police <br /> Supply, hic. for the purchase of ammunition for the Decatur Police Department pursuant to the attached bid summary. It would <br /> be the recommendation of staff to authorize the execution of purchase orders as shown in Exhibit A. <br /> BACKGROUND: The Decatur Police Department purchases firearm ammunition on an annual basis for routine handgun <br /> range training and qualification,patrol rifle range training and qualification,Emergency Response Team firearm training,recruit <br /> firearm training and qualification,and for standard on-duty ammunition. <br /> PRIOR COUNCIL ACTION: <br /> Prior Council action has approved similar requests for prior years. Purchase in 2020 was approved under Council Resolution <br /> R2020-40. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: None Anticipated <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: N/A <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: James E.
