City Manager <br /> DATE: 3/15/2021 <br /> MEMO: 2021-01 <br /> TO: Honorable Mayor Julie Moore Wolfe and City Council Members <br /> FROM: Scot Wrighton,City Manager <br /> Jon Kindseth,Deputy City Manager <br /> John Williams,Mass Transit Administrator <br /> SUBJECT: <br /> Resolution Authorizing the Execution of a Grant Agreement with the Federal Transit Administration for Federal Share of Annual <br /> Transit Operating Funds. <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of this item as presented. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> Application is made each year to the Federal Transit Administration on behalf of the City of Decatur,Il for 5307 Urban Formula <br /> apportionment. These funds are apportioned to the City of Decatur and are utilized for operating costs. The City of Decatur <br /> made application and requested FTA funds in the amount of$1,850,000. These funds will be combined with state funds to <br /> support normal operating cost of the Decatur Public Transit System. <br /> The grant is an FY20 operating assistance for Decatur Public Transit System for the period of July 1,2020 through June 30, <br /> 2021. The Operating Assistance is included in the DUATS TIP(Transportation Improvement Plan). <br /> PRIOR COUNCIL ACTION: This same action is taken annually by the City Council,authorizing the annual federal grant <br /> for Decatur Public Transit System. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: No known or anticipated objections to this annual action taken. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Should the City Council have any questions,they may contact Jon Kindsethjkindseth@decaturil.gov; <br /> or John Williams at 217-424-3552 or jwilliams@decaturil.gov;or Michelle Alexander at 217424-3559 or <br /> MAlexander@decaturil.gov.
