RESOLUTION NO. *CO-1 —S C) <br /> RESOLUTION CONCURRING WITH THE ILINOIS DEPARTMENT OF <br /> TRANSPORTATION IN THE AWARD OF A CONTRACT TO IMPROVE THE <br /> CENTER STREET BRIDGE OVER STEVENS CREEK <br /> SECTION NUMBER: 19-00904-00-BR <br /> CITY PROJECT 2019-04 <br /> WHEREAS, on February 1, 2021, the City of Decatur entered into an AGREEMENT with the <br /> STATE OF ILLINOIS, acting by and through its DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, for the <br /> improvement of Center Street by the replacement of a bridge superstructure over Stevens Creek, <br /> known to the Illinois Department of Transportation as MFT Section Number 19-00904-00-BR and <br /> State Job Number C-97-107-21. <br /> WHEREAS, the cost of said improvement has necessitated the use of Federal funds, and; <br /> WHEREAS, the Federal funding source requires a match of local funds, and; <br /> WHEREAS, on March 5, 2021, the Illinois Department of Transportation opened bids for the <br /> improvement of the Center Street bridge over Stevens Creek and requires the concurrence of the City <br /> to proceed with the contract award, and; <br /> WHEREAS, the Illinois Department of Transportation has approved Federal funding of 80% <br /> of the project costs to a maximum of$1,280,000, and; <br /> WHEREAS, the Decatur City Council has authorized$260,000 in Rebuild Illinois Bond <br /> Grant funds plus additional funding as may be necessary to complete the aforementioned project. <br /> NOW THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS: <br /> Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Decatur, Illinois authorizes the City Manager <br /> or designee to concur with the Illinois Department of Transportation in the award of a contract with <br /> Sangamo Construction Company to improve the Center Street Bridge over Stevens Creek(Section <br /> Number 19-00904-00-BR) for their low bid of$1,595,148.92. <br /> PRESENTED and ADOPTED this 5th day of April 2021. <br /> 1"M <br /> oQ' <br /> JULIE MOORE WOLF 11 <br /> MAYOR <br /> ATTEST: <br /> KIM L.
