Getz Jr. <br /> Subject: Agreement between the City of Decatur and the Public Safety Training <br /> Foundation for the Use of the Public Safety Training Foundation's Facilities <br /> BRIEFING MEMO <br /> RECOMMENDED ACTION: <br /> It is recommended that the City Council approve this agreement with the Public Safety Training <br /> Foundation. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> The Training Foundation has several facilities the police and fire department has used in the past. <br /> Both the police and fire department want to continue to use these facilities as this is a great asset <br /> to have. Currently each time the departments utilize these facilities each officer must sign an <br /> agreement to use the facilities. This proposed agreement allows officers and future officers to use <br /> the facilities without having to sign an agreement. This agreement also allows the firefighters <br /> and future firefighters to use the facilities as well. These facilities offer the ability to provide <br /> updated training in training facilities that the City cannot currently provide. This agreement <br /> allows for our first responders to train in a professional training environment while still <br /> indemnifying the Foundation. <br />
