City Manager DATE: 7/12/2021 MEMO: 2021-21 TO: Honorable Mayor Julie Moore Wolfe and City Council Members FROM: Scot Wrighton, City Manager Jon,Kindseth, Deputy City Manager John Williams, Mass Transit Administrator SUBJECT: RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A GRANT AGREEMENT WITH THE FEDERAL TRANSIT ADMINISTRATION FOR FEDERAL SHARE OF ANNUAL TRANSIT OPERATING FUNDS SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of this Resolution as presented. BACKGROUND: Application is made each year to the Federal Transit Administration on behalf of the City of Decatur,for 5307 Urban Formula apportionment. These funds are apportioned to the City of Decatur and are utilized for operational assistance. The City of Decatur made application for fiscal year FY21 utilizing apportionment from FY 18,FY 19 and FY21 in the amount of $1,850,000. These funds will be utilized to provide operational assistance to the City of Decatur Public Transit System from July 1,2021 through June 30, of 2022. This grant funding is included in the DUATS TIP(Transportation Improvement Plan) for FY2021-2022. PRIOR COUNCIL ACTION: This is an annual item that the Council considers to receive the normal federal portion of transit operating revenues.
