OFFICE OF THE CITY MANAGER MEMORANDUM August 2, 2021 TO: Honorable Mayor Julie Moore Wolfe and City Council Members FROM: Scot,Wrighton, City Manager Jon Kindseth,Deputy City Manager John Williams, Mass Transit Administrator SUBJECT: Resolution Authorizing Execution of Grant Agreement with Illinois Department of Transportation,For FY 2022 Transit Operating Assistance(DOAP) RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that this annual item be approved. BACKGROUND: The City of Decatur applies to the Illinois Department of Transportation each year for a Transit Operating Assistance Agreement(known as DOAP) to assist with funding the operations of Decatur Public Transit System. The Transit Operating Assistance Agreement provides reimbursement of up to 65% of the City of Decatur transit operational expenses. The agreement amount to the City of Decatur is up to $13,379,000.00, though we usually spend less than 50% of this amount. A similar agreement with FTA which was approved at last Council meeting provides most of 35% matching funds required. POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: Staff is not aware of objections.
