OFFICE OF THE CITY MANAGER <br /> MEMORANDUM <br /> August 2, 2021 <br /> TO: Honorable Mayor Julie Moore Wolfe and City Council Members <br /> FROM: Scot,Wrighton, City Manager <br /> Jon Kindseth,Deputy City Manager <br /> John Williams, Mass Transit Administrator <br /> SUBJECT: Resolution Authorizing Execution of Grant Agreement with Illinois <br /> Department of Transportation,For FY 2022 Transit Operating Assistance(DOAP) <br /> RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that this annual item be approved. <br /> BACKGROUND: The City of Decatur applies to the Illinois Department of <br /> Transportation each year for a Transit Operating Assistance Agreement(known as DOAP) <br /> to assist with funding the operations of Decatur Public Transit System. The Transit <br /> Operating Assistance Agreement provides reimbursement of up to 65% of the City of <br /> Decatur transit operational expenses. The agreement amount to the City of Decatur is up <br /> to $13,379,000.00, though we usually spend less than 50% of this amount. A similar <br /> agreement with FTA which was approved at last Council meeting provides most of 35% <br /> matching funds required. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: Staff is not aware of objections. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: N/A <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Should the City Council have any questions, they may contact <br /> Jon Kindseth at 450-2323 or jkindsethAdecaturil.gov or Gregg Zientara at 424-2702 or <br /> gzientaranaAdecaturil.gov; or John Williams at 424-3552 or jwilliamsAdecaturil.gov; <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: This grant was included in our adopted annual City <br /> budget. <br />
