Before providing my recommendation,I offer the
following summary of the Bid submissions in ascending order.
Felmiey-Dickerson$3,110,000:Based on the City's review of the MBE documents, they successfully completed the
required forms and met or exceeded the goal.Based on our meeting with Felmley-Dickerson,we feel comfortable with
their knowledge of the project and that their understanding of the scope of work appears to be complete. Felmley-
Dickerson appears to have experience consistent with this scope of work including past successful projects on multiple
fire stations for the Decatur Fire Department, including the recent completion of Fire Station No.3 having the same
building plan and construction as the proposed Station No.7 under consideration, which resulted in a good final product
and professional working relationship with city department leadership and staff. Felmley-Dickerson also indicated that
they have the manpower available and are ready to execute the project scope of work upon contract award.
Grunloh$3,237,000:Based on the City's review of the MBE documents, they successfully completed the required forms and met or
exceeded the goal.
Christy-Foltz$3,474,917:Based on the City's review of the MBE documents, they successfully completed the required forms and met or
exceeded the goal.
Upon review of all the bids and a meeting with Felmley-Dickerson,it is our recommendation that the City of Decatur
accept the proposal of$3,110,000 from the lowest qualified bidder Felmley-Dickerson.
Sincerely,
signed by Naftneel D Custer
_ -4
Naftnael D Custer,
0 MW=0410000000173346F7F2BOD0057C9.
Nathanael D Cu c=ps
Nathan D.Custer,AIA,NCARB,LEED AP,CNU Iree to 9re term defined by the
Senior Project Architect—Director of Design 21 omy ie11i:46 e..osoa 'int
Cc.: Jeff Abbott,Fire Chief
Jim Ohl,Deputy Fire Chief
Jon Kindseth,Assistant City Manager
Jonathan Tallman,Project Manager
