<br /> AN ORDINANCE LEVYING PROPERTY TAXES FOR THE CITY OF DECATUR,
<br /> ILLINOIS FOR THE PURPOSE OF RAISING REVENUE TO MEET CERTAIN
<br /> NECESSARY EXPENSES OF THE CITY FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING
<br /> JANUARY 1,2022, AND ENDING DECEMBER 31,2022
<br /> WHEREAS,the City of Decatur,Illinois is a home rule unit of local government as defined
<br /> by, and having the powers enumerated in, the Constitution of the State of Illinois 1970, Article
<br /> VII, Section 6(a); and,
<br /> WHEREAS,the City of Decatur is required to establish the Property Tax Levy for the City
<br /> of Decatur for the year of assessed value with property tax payable in the subsequent year,the City
<br /> hereby with this Ordinance affixes the Property Tax Levy for assessed value in calendar year 2021
<br /> and with tax payable in calendar year 2022.
<br /> NOW, AND THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
<br /> CITY OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS:
<br /> Section 1. That there is hereby levied upon all the taxable property within the corporate
<br /> limits of the City of Decatur, Illinois, as the same is taxed and equalized for State and County
<br /> purposes for the fiscal year beginning with the 1 It day of January, 2022,and ending on the 31St day
<br /> of December,2022,the sum of Twenty-Eight Million,Five Hundred Thirty-Three Thousand,Two
<br /> Hundred Eighty-Nine Dollars and Twenty-Six Cents ($28,533,289.26) for which said sum is
<br /> hereby levied and is appropriated for purposes specified as follows,and that there is hereby abated
<br /> upon all taxable property within the corporate limits of the City of Decatur, Illinois, the sum of
<br /> Thirteen Million, Five Hundred Eighty-Four Thousand, One Hundred Thirty-Five Dollars and
<br /> Twenty-Six Cents ($13,584,135.26) resulting in a Net Tax Levy of Fourteen Million, Nine
<br /> Hundred Forty-Nine Thousand, One Hundred Fifty-Four Dollars and Zero Cents
<br /> ($14,949,154.00).
