CITY COUNCIL MEMORANDUM
NO. 2022
February 17, 2022
TO: Honorable Mayor Moore Wolfe and City Council
FROM: Scot Wrighton, City Manager
Wendy Morthland, Corporation Counsel
Amy Waks, Assistant Corporation Counsel
SUBJECT: Amendment to City Code, Chapter 50—Licenses, Chapter 52—Alcoholic Liquor, and
Chapter 73 —Offenses
On the Agenda for Council meeting February 22, 2022, is an Ordinance that would delete
sections regarding mask requirements, distancing and other similar restrictions arising from the
last two years of the Covid-19 pandemic. It is timed to coincide with the Governor's most recent
executive orders lifting these mandates.
In order to be proactive for what will hopefully never be necessary,we would recommend that
we work on drafting an ordinance that would attempt to provide broad and universal guidance and
protections for our community for any future public health crisis and pandemic rather than be
reactive.
