MINUTES OF THE MEETING <br /> OF THE <br /> DECATUR CITY PLAN COMMISSION <br /> Thursday, March 3, 2022 <br /> City Council Chamber, Decatur Civic Center <br /> I. Call to Order and Determination of a Quorum <br /> The March 3, 2022 meeting of the Decatur City Plan Commission was called to order at 3:00 <br /> P.M. in the City Council Chamber, Third Floor of the Decatur Civic Center, by Chairman Susie <br /> Peck who determined a quorum was present. <br /> Members Present: Jason Drake, Bruce Frantz, Pat McDaniel, Matt Naber, Kent Newton, <br /> Maurice Payne, Timothy Wright, Susie Peck <br /> Members Absent: Andrew Taylor, James Schwartz, <br /> Staff Present: Greg Crowe, Joselyn Stewart, Jon Kindseth, Kathleen Wrigley, Deanna <br /> Buck <br /> II. Approval of Minutes of the December 4, 2021 City Plan Commission Meeting <br /> It was moved and seconded (McDaniel/Frantz) to approve the minutes of the December 4, 2021 <br /> meeting of the Decatur City Plan Commission. Motion carried. <br /> III. New Business <br /> A. Case No. 22-02 Petition of CITY OF DECATUR to rezone the property located at <br /> 805 East Johns Avenue from 0-1 Office District to R-6 Multiple Dwelling District <br /> It was moved and seconded (McDaniel/Frantz) to forward Case No. 22-02 to the City Council <br /> with a recommendation of approval as set forth in the staff report. <br /> Mrs. Stewart discussed staff's recommendation for approval of the petition based on the staff <br /> report distributed to the Plan Commission prior to the meeting (staff report is on file and is <br /> available for reviewing by request). <br /> Jon Kindseth, Petitioner, was sworn in by Deanna Buck. The petitioner explained the need for <br /> the conditional use permit for the subject site which is located at 805 East Johns Avenue and is <br /> currently zoned 0-1 Office District. It is approximately 0.85 acres (37,400 square feet) and is <br /> currently developed as a Multi-Family Structure. The petitioner proposes to rezone the site from <br /> to O-1 Office District to R-6 Multiple Dwelling District to create a uniform zoning district for <br /> the site and surrounding area. The city will renovate and rehabilitate the property to be used by <br /> Dove for emergency transitional/permanent housing needs in Decatur. <br />
