Two quotes were <br /> received amount includes the cost of delivery,two days of training and the vehicle along with all equipment required for up fitting. <br /> Staff is recommending lowest quote. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> The current pothole patcher is a 2006 International 7400 upfitted with a Pro-Patch system. The patch truck has 14,130 hours with <br /> the City pushing around 2,500 tons of asphalt through it every year as part of the City's street maintenance program. We have had <br /> excellent service with this vehicle and it is being replaced because of very high mileage,operation hours and condition. <br /> The vehicle is used for heating and dispensing asphalt to patch potholes for regular street maintenance. Once heated the material is <br /> conveyored down a shoot to a bin near the pavement to reduce the chance of back injuries. Being able to use hot asphalt when <br /> patching significantly increases the possibility of the patch being more long lasting. <br /> Vehicle Quotes <br /> Specifications for the Pothole Patch Truck were prepared by the Municipal Services Division. The quotes received are as follows: <br /> 4&t pplier -Qqo e <br /> Doggett Freightliner of South Texas $184,915.00 <br /> LLC.,Austin,Texas <br /> Bergkamp,Inc.,Salina,Kansas $243,514.75 <br /> The supplier providing the low quote is providing a Freightliner truck body up-fitted with a Pro-Patch system. The City has <br /> received very good service from with the Pro-Patch system and the Freightliner truck chassis. Staff recommends that the City <br /> Council approve the pothole patch truck quote provided by Doggett Freightliner of South Texas. <br /> The replacement vehicle is estimated to be delivered within 120 days. <br /> DISPOSAL OF REPLACED UNITS:The above vehicle is being replaced due to mileage/hours and condition and will be <br /> sold/auctioned. <br /> OTHER BIDDERS: H.D.
