ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS TIME AND PLACE OF OPENING BIDS: Sealed proposals for the improvement described herein will be received at the City Purchasing Division located on the first floor of the Civic Center, #1 Gary K. Anderson Plaza, Decatur, Illinois, 62523, until 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, April 20, 2022, and thereafter publicly opened and read. DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT: Thero osed improvement is officially known as: P p 2021 LAKE GROVE CLUB RETAINING WALL CITY PROJECT 2021-20 The proposed project herein specified and described includes the following work: The proposed improvement consists of removing approximately 660 feet of existing timber retaining wall of various heights and removing timber stairs, installing approximately 2500 square feet of segmental block retaining wall, including all required excavation, fills, and soil reinforcement. The contractor is required to have a geotechnical investigation with soil borings performed for design of the segmental block retaining wall. Install approximately 360 feet of chain-link fence. Work includes erosion control, traffic control, final grading and seeding, site restoration, filter fabric, river rock, pipe underdrain, and all applicable work. There is an alternate bid item for a segmental block retaining wall that matches the block style, setback, shape and color of the existing retaining wall adjacent to the project.
