Public Works <br /> DATE: 7/13/2022 <br /> MEMO: 2022-42 <br /> TO: Honorable Mayor Julie Moore Wolfe and City Council Members <br /> FROM: Scot Wrighton, City Manager <br /> Matt Newell,Public Works Director <br /> Jessica Taylor,Purchasing Supervisor <br /> SUBJECT: <br /> Resolution Accepting the Sourcewell Bid Price from Woody's Municipal Supply Co. for Diamond Rotary Mower <br /> Attachments <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> Staff recommends awarding a contract at the Sourcewell awarded contract amount of$52,128 to Woody's Municipal Supply Co. <br /> for new 72"side and 72"rear rotary mower attachments for#438 John Deere Tractor as requested by the Public Works <br /> Department's Municipal Services Division. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> The Municipal Services Division has requested new side rotary mower attachments and adding a rear rotary attachment to an <br /> existing 2010 John Deere Tractor. The current mower attachments are being replaced due to age and condition. Itis <br /> recommended that the mower attachments be purchased using Sourcewell awarded contract pricing. <br /> Sourcewell is a public agency that offers competitively solicited purchasing contracts for products and equipment to member <br /> agencies,so those members do not have to duplicate the solicitation process. The City joined Sourcewell several years ago to <br /> compare prices. Looking at various bidding options,including the Illinois Joint Purchasing Agreement,the Sourcewell quote is <br /> the best option for these mower attachments. <br /> This is to replace the mower detailed below: <br /> Unit# Asset# Y= Description Hours VIN# Condition <br /> 438A 517 2009 Flail Diamond C 20,510 MF11073 Fair <br /> The mower's delivery and installation is expected within 120 days. <br /> DISPOSAL OF VEHICLE: The old mower will be stored at the Municipal Services Center until scrapped. <br /> PRIOR COUNCIL ACTION: None <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Matt Newell,Public Works Director,Dan Mendenall,Municipal Services Manager.
