GENERAL CONDITIONS <br /> GC-1 PERMITS , <br /> It is the Contractor's responsibility to obtain all necessary permits. Any costs incurred in <br /> obtaining these permits are to be included with the related pay items in the contract. <br /> GC-2 PHOTOGRAPHS OF EXISTING CONDITIONS <br /> The Contractor shall provide video of existing facilities along the route or area of all <br /> p g g <br /> construction, prior to start of such construction. Construction of this facility will generally be <br /> along street right-of-way containing trees, bushes, fences, driveways and similar items. Special <br /> attention shall be given to coverage of the entire easement and immediate adjacent areas which <br /> might be disturbed during construction. <br /> The videos shall be adequate to serve as a basis for comparison in determining whether <br /> the terms of the specifications with respect to replacements, restoration, and/or preservation of <br /> existing surfaces have been complied with. In areas with on-street parking, it will be necessary to <br /> video tape at a time when a majority of parking spaces are clear of vehicles so that existing <br /> facilities, including utilities, are unobstructed from view. One copy of the video, either on a <br /> DVD or USB flash drive, shall be given to the Engineer for his files. The cost for this item shall <br /> be included in the respective prices for the various items of work. <br /> GC-3 USE OF FIRE HYDRANTS <br /> Prior to any use of fire hydrants by the Contractor within the City of Decatur, a permit , <br /> shall be obtained from the Water Services Division in accordance with Sections 20 and 23 of <br /> Chapter 64 of the City Code. Water Services Division is located at 2600 North Jasper Street; <br /> phone 217-875-5705. The permit will be issued at no charge to the Contractor. <br /> GC-4 UTILITIES <br /> Contractor shall contact JULIE (1-800-892-0123) prior to digging to locate underground <br /> utilities.
