or upon being informed by an operations coordinator that he/she is not suitable for further <br /> assignment,an employee may request a conference with the Chief of Police and the union president <br /> and seek an explanation. The Chief shall meet with the officer involved and the union president <br /> within a reasonable time following such request, but the Chief shall retain complete discretion to <br /> resolve the matter in the best interests of the Department and said officer's decision shall not be <br /> subject to arbitration. <br /> (3) Emergency Response Team operations and general call outs of a shift or department <br /> level are exempt from overtime hire-back scheduling and shall be conducted at the discretion of <br /> the Chief of Police. <br /> ARTICLE 6 <br /> SALARIES AND WAGES <br /> Section 1 (a). The salaries and wages set out in EXHIBIT A for the respective classified <br /> positions in the police service represented by the Union shall be effective January 1, 2020. <br /> (b). The salaries and wages set out in EXHIBIT B,for the respective classified positions <br /> in the police service represented by the Union shall be effective January 1, 2021. <br /> (c). The salaries and wages set out in EXHIBIT C for the respective classified positions <br /> in the police service represented by the Union shall be effective January 1, 2022. <br /> (d). The salaries and wages set out in EXHIBIT I for the respective classified positions <br /> in the police service represented by the Union shall be effective January 1, 2023. <br /> (e). The salaries and wages set out in EXHIBIT J for the respective classified positions <br /> in the police service represented by the Union shall be effective January 1, 2024. <br /> (1). In addition, beginning in 2024,the City will place in each eligible employee's <br /> deferred compensation account on December 1, and on each December 1 thereafter, an <br /> amount equal to one percent(1%) of their base salary. <br /> (b). It is understood that employees who have retired after January 1, 2020 and before <br /> the effective date of this agreement shall be entitled to retroactive pay at the rates set out in Exhibits <br /> A, and B, as applicable. <br /> Section 2. Those employees in the police service who have occupied position <br /> classifications as set out in Exhibit A for not less than five years shall receive longevity pay, in <br /> addition to the wages set out in said Exhibit A as provided in section 3 hereof, according to the <br /> following schedule: <br /> Employees with not less than 5 years but fewer than 10 years - 2% <br /> Employees with not less than 10 years but fewer than 15 years - 4% <br /> Employees with not less than 15 years but fewer than 20 years - 6% <br /> Employees with not less than 20 years but fewer than 25 years - 9% <br /> Employees with not less than 25 years - 12% <br /> 8 <br />
