ORDINANCE NO.22- 3Zj ORDINANCE CLOSING PORTION OF ALLEY -NORTH MAIN STREET AND NORTH CHURCH STREET- BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR,ILLINOIS: Section 1. That the portion of the alley located between North Main Street and North Church Street be,and the same is hereby, ordered closed per the description below and Exhibit A: A PART OF THE RIGHT OF WAY ALLEYWAY IN THE CITY BLOCK CONTAINED ON ITS NORTH BY WEST PRAIRIE AVENUE, ITS EAST BY NORTH MAIN STREET,ITS SOUTH BY WEST MAIN STREET,AND ITS WEST BY NORTH CHURCH STREET;BEING MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS: COMMENCING AT THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF LOT 1 OF THE RESURVEY OF BLOCK NO. 3 ORIGINAL TOWN OF DECATUR AS PER PLAT RECORDED IN BOOK 22 PG 403 OF THE RECORDS IN THE RECORDER'S OFFICE OF MACON COUNTY ILLINOIS,THENCE EAST 152 FEET ALONG THE SOUTH RIGHT OF WAY LINE OF WEST PRAIRIE AVENUE TO THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF LOT 2 OF SAID RESURVEY;THENCE 80 FEET SOUTH ALONG THE WEST ALLEYWAY RIGHT OF WAY TO THE POINT OF BEGINNING, SAID POINT OF BEGINNING BEING LOCATED ON THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF LOT 2 OF SAID RESURVEY; THENCE EAST 16 FEET TO THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE ALLEYWAY;THENCE SOUTH 157 FEET ALONG THE EAST ALLEYWAY RIGHT OF WAY, SAID POINT BEING LOCATED 83 FEET NORTH OF THE NORTH RIGHT OF WAY OF WEST MAIN STREET;THENCE 16 FEET WEST TO THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE ALLEYWAY; THENCE NORTH 157 FEET ALONG THE WEST ALLEYWAY RIGHT OF WAY TO THE POINT OF BEGINNING; TOTALING 2512 SQUARE FEET MORE OR LESS. Section 2. That the City of Decatur or its designee be,and he is hereby, authorized and directed to cause barricades, fences and/or similar sturctures to be placed in such that access from said alley onto said street,as herein prohibited,is prevented,and that said officer is further authorized and directed to cause signs to be placed notifying the public of such closure.
