M ORDINANCE ANNEXING TERRITORY DECATUR & EASTERN ILLINOIS RAILROAD WHEREAS, there having been filed with the City Clerk, and by said Clerk presented to the Council herewith and attached as Exhibit A, the petition under oath of Alissa Hackel, Director of Railroad Real Estate requesting that there be annexed to the City territory described as: Commencing at a point on the north line of Section 19, Township 16 North, Range 3 East of the 3rd Principal Meridian, said point being 20 feet west of the east line of the Northwest Quarter of said Section 19; thence south 250 feet to a point, said point being 20 feet west of the east line of the Northwest Quarter of said Section 19, thence southwesterly 100 feet to a point, said point being 99 feet west of the east line of the Northwest Quarter of said Section 19, thence southwesterly 260 feet to a point, said point being 230 feet west of the east line of the Northwest Quarter of said Section 19 to the point of beginning, said point of beginning being at the intersection of the easterly shore line of Lake Decatur and the northerly right-of-way line of Decatur& Eastern Illinois Railroad; thence southeasterly on and along the northerly right-of-way line of said Decatur& Eastern Illinois Railroad to a point, said point being 1089 feet west of the east line of the Northwest Quarter of Section 28, Township 16 North, Range 3 East and on the northerly right-of-way line of the Decatur& Eastern Illinois Railroad; thence south to a point on the southerly right-of-way line of said Decatur& Eastern Illinois Railroad, said point being 1089 feet west of the east line of the Northwest Quarter of said Section 28; thence on and along the southerly right-of-way line of said Decatur& Eastern Illinois Railroad to a point, said point being perpendicular to the southerly right-of-way line of said Decatur& Eastern Illinois Railroad and in line with the point of beginning; thence northeasterly to the point of beginning. WHEREAS, it appears said petition is signed by the owners of record of all land within such territory and by at least 51% of the electors residing therein, and that said territory is contiguous to the City and not within the corporate limits of any city, village or incorporated town or other municipality, and, WHEREAS, notice of intention to take action for annexation has been given as required.
