RESOLUTION NO. &0 a' — 191 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING DECATUR PUBLIC TRANSIT <br /> TO INCREASE SERVICE <br /> WHEREAS, the provision and continual improvement of public transportation facilities, <br /> rolling stock, equipment and services is essential to the development of safe, efficient, functional <br /> public transportation; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Illinois Department of Transportation has the authority to make such Grants <br /> and makes funds available to offset eligible capital costs required for providing and improving <br /> public transportation facilities,rolling stock, equipment and services; and <br /> WHEREAS, Grants for said funds will impose certain obligations upon the recipient. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF DECATUR,ILLINOIS: <br /> Section 1. That a service increase utilizing IDOT Downstate Operating Assistance Program <br /> Funding and FTA 5307 Operating Assistance Funds for the City of Decatur, Illinois is hereby <br /> supported and authorized. <br /> Section 2. That the Mass Transit Administrator, or designee, is authorized and directed to file <br /> certifications and assurances and other documents the Federal Transit Administration and to Illinois <br /> Department of Transportation as requested by them to increase public transportation services. <br /> Section 3.
