The City then approved an
Advanced Water Metering Infrastructure Maintenance Agreement with Itron, Inc., in May of 2015. The infrastructure
automatically collects data from all of the City's water meters. In 2015 City staff began using the Itron Analytics software that
translates the data so City staff can provide various customer service and auditing functions. The City also uses Itron's cloud
services to host the City's long term water utility data storage. Utility Customer Service and Water Services staff utilize the
software on a daily basis to identify unusually low and high use by water customers and detect illegal water usage. This is a yearly
service fee paid by the City for use of the software and cloud storage.
LEGAL REVIEW: The Legal Department approved the original agreement.
PRIOR COUNCIL ACTION:
1.May 18,2015-Resolution No.2015-59 City Council approved Maintenance Agreement with Itron Inc.,for the amount of
$5,425.75.
2.February 4th,2019-Resolution No.R2019-23 City Council approved 3-year agreement for Itron Analytics Hosting
Services in the amount of$64,452.64.
POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: None foreseen
STAFF REFERENCE: Matthew Newell,Public Works Director,Randy Miller,Water Services Manager.Matt Newell will attend
the City Council meeting to answer any questions of the Council on this item.
BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: Funding for the expenditure is available in the FY2023 Budget.
ATTACHMENTS:
Description Type
Resolution Authorizing a Renewal Agreement with Itron
Resolution Letter
Analytics Cloud Hosting Services
https://decatur.novusagenda.com/agendaweb/CoverSheet.aspx?ltemlD=4250 1/1
