OFFICE OF THE CITY MANAGER DATE: March 20, 2023 TO: Mayor Julie Moore Wolfe and City Council Members FROM: Jon Kindseth, Deputy City Manager Lacie Elzy, Transit Administrator SUBJECT: Resolution Authorizing the Execution of An Agreement with Steve's Trucking for the Demolition of Transit Buildings at 300 E. Macon(Former Tommy House Tire) SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of the Resolution authorizing execution of the attached proposal from Steve's Trucking for the Demolition of transit buildings at 300 E. Macon. BACKGROUND: The City of Decatur acquired the former Tommy House Tire buildings. Two of the buildings have been determined to be unstable after damage was sustained during the recent storm on March Yd with high wind gusts. It is imperative these buildings are safely demolished as quickly as possible, with the approval of IDOT, for the health and safety of our employees and citizens. Steve's Trucking was the lowest, responsible bidder with a bid of$57,650.00. The bid summary is attached. BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: This demolition will be funded by IDOT Rebuild grant funds.
