ORDINANCE NO. <br /> ORDINANCE AMENDING CITY CODE <br /> CHAPTER 74 <br /> -SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM- <br /> BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, <br /> ILLINOIS: <br /> Section 1. That Chapter 74 of the City Code of Decatur, Illinois, be, and the same is <br /> hereby modified and amended by adding and deleting language to Sections 10 and 18. Said <br /> Sections 10 and 18 as so modified, amended and added, shall provide as follows: <br /> 10. RATE. <br /> (B) Effective May 1, 2022, and continuing annually on May I thereafter, Sewer User <br /> Charge Rates contained in this Chapter will increase by 2.5 percent or by the annual percentage <br /> change of the U.S. Department of Labor Midwest Urban Consumer Price Index for each <br /> corresponding January 1 to December 31 of the preceding year, whichever is greater, except for <br /> the year 2023 for which the increase will be 5.0 percent. The City Council must authorize any <br /> annual increase that is 5.0 percent or higher. (Amended, Ordinance No. 2022-13, April 4, 2022) <br /> (G) The owner of any structure within an area determined to be subject to high storm water <br /> induced inflow and infiltration who refuses to participate in City required building sewer or a <br /> drainage system repairs or improvements, will be charged a monthly fee of$50. The monthly <br /> charge will be assessed until building sewer or drainage system improvements are made by the <br /> owner and approved by the Public Works Director or the necessary easement and release document <br /> for said improvement is signed by the owner and approved by the Public Works Director. <br />
